another weekend

So this weekend was pretty sweet. Friday night my friends and I went out to our friend’s apartment to chill but we ended up going to a party instead haha. It was a 1920s party because it was the guy’s 20th birthday and even though we weren’t properly dressed, it didn’t really matter because no one there was. After partying for a while my friend and I decided to fight just for fun. I’m not really sure of what our thinking was but it’s all good. Neither of us went all out on each other but we still were hitting each other hard enough. After a few minutes and after we each got a couple good punches in, I looked at my friend and I said to my friend, “this is really dumb. Let’s go back inside. I don’t care anymore haha.” And so we just went back into the party and chilled. My nose still hurts a little bit though. After that I went back to campus and just chilled with some other friends and watched the movie Transformers. It was awesome! On Saturday we all went to the scrimmage game at Lane stadium. It was really cool. I also thought it was funny how they were allowed to tackle any one on the team except for Tyrod Taylor because they dint want to injure him for next season. Then I kinda just goofed off for the rest of the day and my friends and I watched iron man. The next morning I woke up and realized how unproductive my weekend was and it was really stupid. So Sunday all I did was work to make myself feel better. I’ve done most of my engineering project with my group. It’s awesome how much I’ve done today. (yea I’m being sarcastic). So tonight I’ll probably be up late. Again. Woo.

crazzzzzzyyy man

Mornin everyone! I hope everyone’s cruising and had a good weekend. Mine was very interesting. It started out on Thursday night and I did a pre-race run to warm up my legs for the next day which was good. Then the next day I woke up at 630 bright and early to go run the “3.2 for 32” race. Because I normally run sub seven minute miles, I was put in group one which was really cool. On the Tech website you can see me and two of my friends on the grass at the start of the race out of almost the 6000 people that ran. I finished at 22:40 which was pretty good for me because I haven’t been training for it. Later that day, we went to the picnic on the drill field and got free food and cookies while we all played Apples to Apples. After that I took a nap, and woke up just in time for the candle light vigil. It was really emotional and a lot of people showed up. That night I noticed a lot of people ended up going out that night to party and I didn’t really care too much but it did bother me that they would be that disrespectful and insensitive to treat that day as a holiday. I feel like there was a greater purpose to that day and some people just didn’t get it. But if you did end up going out that night its chill with me, that was just a thought that was going through my head for whatever reason.

Anyways, on a lighter note Saturday was a good day because it was the Big Event. I helped plant trees at Heritage Park which was cool because now twenty years from now it’s gonna look legit and I’m gonna be like “yea that was me”. Then on Saturday night my friends and I decided to go out to some “formal” party. I wore a shirt and tie and as always it was chaotic and hectic trying to get there and find the address. We finally got there at like 12 and it was stupid because no more than 10 minutes into the party the cops busted it. I was pissed to say the least. The party wasn’t even loud. They showed up at the doors and told everyone to leave. I just walked out because the cops were just marching everyone out telling them to go home but I thought it was really funny though because my friends panicked and went out the window and hopped the fence to get away from the police. Anyways, all in all, it was stupid. The night was a fluke. Hopefully next weekend will be better.

Peace I’m out

So this weekend was Relay for Life. It was really fun. Since December I’ve been on Team Crossfire, which was made by my friend Shannon. As a team, we raised over 10,000 dollars. Most of it was thanks to Shannon who rose I think around 5,000 of it, which is insanely crazy and awesome. They started setting up for the event at 7 in the morning and by 2 in the afternoon they had all the lights, stage, track, and tents set up and ready to go. Around 5 they kicked off the event with all the survivors and fighters taking the first lap which was really cool. All the teams had tons of tents set up around the track trying to raise money by selling food, bracelets, glow sticks and tons more. I think I got about 20 free hugs. At around 11 they had a ceremony for all the people that had lost their fights against cancer in the tech community. I didn’t think it would be very emotional but it really was. I am not ashamed to say that I did cry when I thought about people I’ve lost also. They did it in a way where you would light your candles, and they would announce people and as someone you were Relaying for fell into the category they announced, you would blow out your candle. It was mind-blowing how quickly over a thousand candles went out in a matter of minutes. After that our objective was to have at least one member on our team walking at all times. It didn’t work to well but that’s okay because our whole team stayed the whole time until 7 in the morning. At around 130 there was a dance crew competition. We didn’t win but its all good because the other crews were LEGIT. Then at 5 in the morning they had a cardio dance dude on the stage and we all did his work out. It was really difficult but after I was completely awake and not tired at all. The best part about relay though (other than the cause) was definitely Shannon getting her awards for all her hard work. Because of her we succeeded and we were the best team. So if you all know her, next time you see her congratulate her please she deserves it!

Aight peace till next week….

Oh and the sunrise the following morning was awesome. I saw it from the tallest point on campus (Lee Hall 7th floor woot!!!)

3 short topics yo

Okay so we probably all know that West Virginia just lost to Duke. I wish this hadn’t happened. If they had won I would’ve won 140 dollars which would’ve been awesome. However, it is all kind of funny because I’ve never followed basketball ever and when I filled out the bracket for the pool, I had no idea what I was doing. One of my friends actually picked probably over half my bracket. This is why I thought it was funny because the most random bracket chosen by the least educated person almost won the whole pool. I feel like you could just flip a coin for most of the games and you have just a good of a chance of winning. It was still fun even though I lost 10 dollars haha.

On another note, I’m really good at procrastinating. Right now I’m really distracted writing this blog because of facebook and stumbleupon. I don’t know if any of you have heard of stumbleupon, but it’s really addicting. You go to the website, and it basically has a button called stumble and it loads a whole bunch of interesting or fascinating web pages. On rare occasion you’ll get one that doesn’t suit your interest such as top ten bed bath and beyond items. Most of the time you get cool stuff that’s just neat like art, or videos, or cool facts and blogs and pictures. It’s pretty sweet.

The last thing I’d like to talk about is driving. Reckless driving isn’t worth it, trust me. I know. You think you’re cool cruising around and all of a sudden you’re getting your car towed and thanking whoever you believe in that your friends are okay and nothing worse happened. The second worst part is the 5 seconds of sound that gets stuck in your head for days after it happens.

Aight peace till next week.
